Today, Professor Detlef Weigel visited our laboratory. He talked with some Ph.D students and staffs about their on-going or nearly finished researches, and gave some valuable suggestions. Later, he gave a speech about the 1001 Arabidopsis genomes project.
Dr. Detlef Weigel is the director of Department of Molecular Biology, Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology. The majority of the Weigel group investigates genetic diversity, which is being studied on several different levels. They also study miRNAs of Arabidopsis as well. Over the past 23 years, he and his group have published at least six papers in the Cell, five in the Nature and ten in the Science as the first author or corresponding author.
