Two scholars, Dr. Stephen MJ Searle and Dr. Jan H Vogel, who come from Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute visited our lab on 28th Nov to 1st Dec. Dr. Stephen Searle leads the Ensembl project at Sanger Center. He gave a talk on a general introduction to Ensembl, which included some information on the various analyses systems and infrastructure  that Ensembl has developed. Dr. Jan Vogel gave a talk on use of RNA-seq and cloud compute.

Meanwhile, our director, Prof. Bin Han held a talk with them on some genome annotation projects. They reached an agreement on the future cooperation.
